Warren Sapp, a former NFL-er who played defensive tackle for 13 seasons, splitting time between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Oakland Raiders, was arrested Saturday (Feb. 6) in South Beach and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery for allegedly attacking his girlfriend.
Sapp was supposed to be an analyst during Super Bowl XLIV for the NFL Network, but in light of his arrest, has been pulled from the broadcast while the NFL network looks into the matter.
You may remember Sapp from his stint on "Dancing with the Stars." In the seventh season of the show, Sapp and partner Kym Johnson finished second to Brooke Burke.
Sapp and Johnson finished higher than (among others) *NSync's Lance Bass, Chloris Leachman, and Kim Kardashian (who also happens to be at Super Bowl XLIV because her boyfriend Reggie Bush plays for the New Orleans Saints).
Sapp was released Sunday morning (Feb. 7) on a $1500 bond.
