Thanks, Kenny.
Also, if you have seen the movie Swordfish...that's our helicopter dragging the bus all over the place. The pilot said that was actually one of the hardest jobs he's ever flown. _________________ Dee

My name is Karen and I was born on Thanksgiving, Nov. 24, 1953. I’ve been married for 36 years and have three daughters. Two are out of the house with 6 kids between them and the youngest is 20 and still at home. I am a stay at home Mom buttt I am the second line of defense on the babysitting front and also caretaker of three ferrets and one cat named Norman (daughters idea LOL). BBU and RU are my first forum boards and from all I’ve learned here about other boards, I don’t plan to go anywhere else!
HEY MIMI - Our b'days are less than a month apart - same year. Whoo hoo!!
*waves* Hi all, my irl nickname is Cat. 36, living in NYC with plans to move to NC within the year. I'm often braindead these days with a deadline-driven job (computer artist) and 2 home-schooled kids (14 and 16). Fortunately they're getting to the "self-do" point! LOL.
I'm addicted to reality tv, but with the exception of a few VH1 train wreck shows, I tend towards what I consider the good stuff - Big Brother, Top Chef and American Idol, and though lapsed and starting again with this season, Survivor and the The Amazing Race. Oh, and Celebrity Fit Club which isn't a train wreck unless Dustin Diamond is on it again. LOL.
And other than that I play spades, read - a lot (my front hallway doubles as a personal library) surf internet sites, and am a complete goofball most likely known to be both a complete harda$$ about getting the schoolwork done and to be the parent mostly likely to answer "This is hardddd" with "That's what she said!"
Whoops, somehow I managed to write all that and leave out the bf! We've been together for 3 years and getting married next year. 8•DDD
ChirpErr, Welcome to RU. I too like Survivor and TAR. We have a great time here. Once Big Brother is over and Survivor and TAR gets started The Chatter Thread is a great place to hang out at. I hope to see you there. _________________ Oh My Gravy!!!

Hi everyone!
Finally got myself set up over here..yay!
I've 'met' a few of you over at BBU (y'all know me as 'BBFanShan')(...after having been a 'lurker' for quite sometime I could no longer resist and joined in on the fun there last month!
My name is Shannon...but you can call me Shan I'm a 38 year old SAHM (Stay-At-Home-Mom) and Army wife from North Carolina. Been married to my best friend & soulmate, Max for just shy of 18 year now. We have three awesome kiddos...a daughter who will be 17 next month and is a Senior in High School (yikes! WHERE do the years go huh?) and two sons..ages 6 and 4. Hubby is a 'lifer' in the US Army...21 years Active Duty and who knows how many more to go lol
I have a sort of 'side job' online where I work with graphic/web/email designing ...not on a grand scale ..but still, I love it!
Outside of all that (enough already though huh? hehe) I love to hang out with my fam...read...play online (way too addicted to Facebook lately lol)...and of course watch my Reality shows & Soaps
Have had so much fun 'hanging out' at BBU and look forward to the same here!!

Welcome to RU Cat and Shan (ChirpErr and RealityJunkieShan)! Thanks for sharing a little about yourselves with us and letting us get to know you a little more.
Shan, I stopped asking "Where have the years gone?" after I use to always say, "When my niece Brittany turns 16, I'll be OLD"... well, she's 21 now and will be 22 in December and is married and has 2 children of her own! Let's see now... when her daughter Sereinity turns 16, THEN I'll be OLD!
LOL Shan & Kenny. I had fallen out of touch with an old friend about 15 years ago and she found me on FaceBook recently. Posts on her page showed me the lil kid I last knew (her son) as a 4 year old as a 19 Y.O. *M*an with chest tats and all full of Brooklyn Attitude.
I walked around the whole day going "Holy Crap. I'm OLD. When did THAT happen?"
Hi everyone and welcome Shan and Cat. Glad you guys made the jump over here. Yeah sucks to get old, don't it. Wow Survivor starts tomorrow and I think I already hate Russell. I cant wait until TAR starts, that will be awesome. Hope you all can come chat tomorrow during the Survivor premiere, I will probably be asking lots of questions because it sucks to be on the West coast when it comes to tv. _________________ "This stuff is beyond crap. I was thinking about other places I chat and remembered that there was a *getting to know you* thread here, too, so...
I am a 50+ (ha!) teacher, living in Alabama but teaching in Florida. I have been divorced for about 4 years, and have 2 grown children. Right now I live alone, but I think my son might need to move back for awhile to finish college. I watch Big Brother, Survivor, and American Idol mostly. I like TAR, but I haven't watched it in a while - maybe I will get interested this season with everyone here to chat with!

Hi Beachmom! Thanks for sharing. You're right in my area. I'm in South Georgia so I'm connected to both the state you live in and work in, lol. I have an Aunt who lives in Brooksville, FL and my sister Michelle & Family have a vacation place in Keaton Beach, FL.
While I'm here, I want to share a photo I just got today of my Niece Amber (my sister Lisa's daughter). This is her Danceline photo. She's 16 and will be 17 in November. Isn't she beautiful!!

You're not old until you forget all their names and how old they are. At that point who cares, you'll be on some killer meds by then and will be talking to your refrigerator.
I'm Butch, 54 living near the beach in S. Jersey about 30 miles south of Atlantic City.
Grew up in Florida, Pa and NJ.
Got married in 1976 to someone I grew up with since 4th grade.
I have 25 and 23 year old sons living at home. Can't beat free room, board and cell phone service!! They were both born on Long Island, NY when we lived there for 6 years.
Graduated HS in NJ in 1972. I moved to Phoenix for 2 years and then went in the Air Force in 1974 for 6 years. During that time I spent time in San Antonio, Biloxi, MS, Jersey, Oklahoma, Kansas City, St Louis, Watertown,NY and Riverside, Ca.
Spent a year after the Air Force building aircraft for Gulfstream.
Worked for the FAA in NY and NJ until retiring Jan 3, 2008 after 33 years as an Air Traffic Controller.

Homer,
My refrigerator said to tell you "Hi"!
Nice to meet you Butch. Sounds like you've got to do a lot of traveling in your lifetime, especially while you were in the Air Force. I've been to most states in the USA (most of them while I was a child) but have never been out of the USA. Thanks for sharing some info with us. _________________

She is beautiful Kenny.!!!
I wanted to post my kids but makes me nervous. My daughter was asked to be a Miss Hawaiian tropics model 2 years ago and declined (thank goodness for her dad and I ) Ironic that Evel Dick will be there this year!! But I have a stunner too!! My nieces (3 of them ) and my mom were models. My one niece was a Pantene commercial model , another in JC Penny Catalog (baby) and another was offered a Vera Wang contract She was also a State pageant winner)
